Ascension

Ascension is a hybrid artwork composed of a digital painting and a complementary allegorical text, each printed on individual wooden panels. QR codes embedded in both panels invite the viewer to interact with digital extensions of the artwork, including augmented reality-enhanced translations and a 3D experience. 

Panel 1: The Allegory 

This panel presents The Allegory of the Ice Woman, a text developed in collaboration with artificial intelligence and written with the cadence of biblical scripture. It functions as a poetic meditation on global warming and human responsibility. The accompanying QR code unlocks multilingual translations through augmented reality, extending its reach and impact. 

Panel 2: The Image 

Inspired by the narrative, the artist created a digital painting of the Ice Woman, first sculpted in virtual reality and then printed on wood. At once serene and radiant, the figure conveys fragility and power. Through augmented reality, viewers can access a 3D version of the sculpture, revealing intricate details that would otherwise remain hidden in the 2D print. 

Ascension explores the potential of AI as a conceptual collaborator, while highlighting the essential role of human authorship. It is both a reflection on the ecological crisis and an experiment in the evolving dialogue between technology and creativity, inviting viewers to reflect on the narratives we construct in the face of change.
